The government has launched the "Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan" to resurrect every sector of the economy in manufacturing and supply in order to make India self-reliant and to maintain and tackle every potentially unforeseeable event.
The idea behind making the country self-reliant is to have a stronger emphasis on local producers and service providers to sustain the local economy. Referring to a World Bank statistics survey, the number of new companies in the formal sector in India has increased by a substantial 12.2 percent between 2014 and 2018, compared to a marginal 3.8 percent growth from 2006-2014.

However, with more than 70 years of Independence, we still rely on imports for many products of daily use. To grow the economy sustainably, we must increase home-grown entrepreneurs. Udyogwardhini has been following the concept of “ Atma Nirbharta” for more than 35 years now. Under the guidance of Mr. Sunil Chandak, Udyogwardhini has been contributing by generating fearless and successful businessmen and women who have uplifted the nation with their entrepreneurial ambitions. As suggested by Mr. Ranade, the then director of MITCON, Mr. Chandak joined the 6-month Entrepreneur training program of MITCON at Ahmedabad where he had to deliver lectures every week. Being a man of few words, he found the task difficult. But with time he overcame the challenge with practice and hard work, becoming the best lecturer of the camp.
Post the completion of the training, he travelled places and conducted Entrepreneurial Development Programs informing the participants about various government schemes. In 1987 he organized a training program for women in Nashik.
As they say life is about ups and downs, Chandak met with a serious accident in the year 1994. That's when he started contemplating launching a new business. Udyogwardhini was born to address the challenges an aspirant faced which are relevant in today's Age of Information.
