According to the World Bank, women's labour force participation in India was 26.97 % in 2018, while the world average stood at 48.47%. According to the Sixth Economic in India in 2013-2014, 14 % of total female entrepreneurs in India. This means 8.05 million out of the total 58.5 million are female entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises supports women entrepreneurs in many ways. With the introduction of various schemes and amendment acts, the Indian government aims at providing relevant opportunities for women of the country to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations. Today, young women are shifting towards non-traditional jobs, and even the women from rural areas are moving to the organized sector by learning new skills.
