GEM is a Government e-Marketplace that allows common users to purchase goods and services. GEM is a dynamic, self-sustaining, and user-friendly portal. To a large extent, GEM reduces the need for human interaction in vendor registration, order placement, and payment processing.
All Central and State Government Ministries/Departments, including their attached/subordinate offices, Central and State autonomous bodies, Central and State Public Sector Units, and local government bodies, among others, are authorized to conduct procurement through the GeM portal. To begin using the GeM portal, a Primary User must register on the site.
