GST Registration is the procedure by which a taxpayer becomes registered for GST purposes. Once a firm has been successfully registered, it is granted a unique registration number called the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN). This is a 15-digit number assigned to taxpayers by the central government upon registration.
It is just as important for each taxable individual to register under GST as it is for any citizen of the country to have an identity document in order to benefit from the benefits and be recognized as one. Failure to register under GST may result in harsh penalties. If a person fails to register on purpose and is caught by authorities as a fraud, the penalty might be as much as 100 percent of the tax amount evaded. Any taxable firm or individual should register for GST under the new regime.
