This course aims to give you an insight into the process of packaging design, branding, and marketing. Right from initial research to the creation of brand ideas, the personality of the brand, to the philosophy of design, mock-ups, and presentation. You are left with an empty container, some fonts, and colors if you separate the brand from the packaging & design. Packaging plays a critical role in becoming part of the personality of a brand, the brand's outward manifestation. The packaging is also the first point of communication with the user of a brand, so it is the vehicle on which the message is conveyed by a brand. You'll look at the complex, interconnected relationship between packaging, marketing, and branding throughout the course. You will obtain valuable insight into the marketing process and its diverse fields by the end of this course. You will know how to create a brand and its packaging for the right market and how the ideas can be visualized and displayed.
The food industry depends on "gut" emotions and natural desires, therefore, branding visuals can make your consumers hungry or also make them lose their appetite. It’s important to also understand and implement food branding and marketing strategies, in order to give your consumers a correct first impression. Your options for branding should fit your business plans and objectives. A huge world and a central aspect of food branding are food and beverage packaging. The first encounter of your customers with your product happens with their eyes, not their taste buds, so it matters a lot how you house your food or beverage.
The packaging industry, which stood at $32 billion in 2015, has grown in the last five years at a compound annualized growth rate ( CAGR) of 15 percent and is expected to continue rising in the coming years at a CAGR of 13 to 15 percent. Packaging is the fifth-largest industry in India's economy and is one of the country's fastest-growing industries. The sector is rising at 24 to 27 percent per annum, according to the Packaging Industry Association of India (PIAI). By offering protection from environmental, chemical, and physical challenges, food packaging is ubiquitous, vital, and plays an important role in the quality of food products. This protection can be for avoiding breakage of the package & to provide a barrier to moisture, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases, as well as flavors and aromas. Packaging technology, however, needs to balance the safety of food with other issues, including energy and material prices. Increased social and environmental awareness and stringent regulations on pollutants and municipal solid waste disposal have to be also taken care of. The purpose of food packaging is to contain food in a cost-effective manner that meets market requirements, customer preferences preserve food safety, and minimizes the impact on the environment. Because of its multiple functions and its significance in terms of improving product shelf life by retarding the deterioration of product quality and ensuring its safety, the task of the packaging must be recognized.
